Data Engineer

“IT Data” is one of the 5 IT divisions managing the IT landscape and projects of the company. It is a team of 30 Data Engineers, Data Visualization Experts, Data Analysts, Project Managers.

We build and maintain the Enterprise Data Platform composed of:

• Data Vault 2.0 Data Warehouse
• Python/SQL and Talend data pipelines
• Power BI (cloud), SAP BO reporting environments
• Business, management, compliance and regulatory reports
• Datalabs
• A Data Hub

In the coming years, we will progressively migrate the Data Platform to a cloud solution.

As a Data Engineer at Degroof Petercam, you will play a pivotal role in designing and building robust data pipelines across our Enterprise Data Platform and crafting strategic Datamarts to support our business initiatives (Management reporting, BI & Analytics, regulatory reporting, financial reporting, data integrations between applications, etc.). You will also contribute to the progressive evolution of the Data Platform to a cloud solution like Snowflake.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines (in collaboration with cross-functional teams)
• Leveraging your expertise in Python, SQL, and Git to ensure efficient and scalable data processing.
• Building complex data transformations to fit business needs and regulatory requirements
• Making recommendations for the technological evolution of the Data Platforms
• Continuously optimizing data flows
• Drive CI/CD best practices within the data engineering domain

You have minimum 2 years proven experience as a Data Engineer.

Required skills and experience

• Experience designing and implementing performant data pipelines with large data volumes
• Ability to develop in Python, SQL, using Git for version control
• Understanding Data Warehouse concepts
• Understanding CI/CD principles
• Problem solving
• Ability to understand data related business challenges

• Knowledge of Data Vault 2.0 modeling
• Experience in the banking sector
• Snowflake / Azure / Oracle

Languages

• English: Professional working proficiency
• Dutch or French speaking is an advantage
