Linux System Engineer

Behind the scenes, many teams contribute to the services our customers rely on. One of them is our Platforms team, a group of 16 talented engineers responsible for developing and running the backbone of our hosting solutions. This includes shared hosting, e-mail, OpenStack, DNS, monitoring, and more.

Are you a skilled Linux System Engineer/DevOps engineer eager for more technical challenges? Then this is your chance to make an impact on our European cloud and hosting platform.

• Continuously improve and optimize our cluster infrastructure, with a strong focus on automation, to ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction.
• Design, build, and support cloud infrastructure and hosting solutions.
• Deploy new applications and enhance existing ones.
• Research, test, and recommend new technologies to improve our platforms.
• Perform (and automate) OS and application upgrades where needed.
• Implement monitoring and observability tools to proactively detect and resolve issues.
• Champion and spread the DevOps mindset within the team.

• At least 3 years of experience in a DevOps or Linux system engineering role.
• Solid knowledge of Linux distributions (ideally Debian) and their core components (iptables, nftables, systemd, linux kernel, unix tools, …).
• Hands-on experience with popular open-source technologies such as Apache, Nginx, MySQL, Kubernetes, Docker, HAProxy, ElasticSearch, etc.
• Skilled in scripting (Python, PHP, Perl, Go, bash, …).
• Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, …).
• Understanding of relational and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with virtualization platforms (KVM, VMware, oVirt, …).
• OpenStack knowledge (Cinder, Neutron, Nova, Glance, …) is a plus.
• Basic networking knowledge (firewalling, VPN, VLANs, …).
• Understanding of file systems and storage technologies (NFS, ext4, zfs, btrfs, …) is beneficial.
• Experience working in Agile teams.
• Passionate about technology, eager to learn, and always curious.
• A true team player who can also work independently and stay calm under pressure.
• Precise, result-oriented, and driven by a can-do attitude.
